Ohio State University, founded in 1870, is a public land-grant research university in Columbus, Ohio. With sixteen colleges and over 400 degree programs, it is the fifth-largest university campus in the United States, with nearly 50,000 undergraduate and 15,000 graduate students. The university operates regional campuses in Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark, and Wooster.
